A Black Queen.

~ Coretta Tanner
I am that well known female that is treated better than most
I give commands as well as take them,
but I am below no one
I agree to collect riches and live life to the fullest
I refuse to dwell on the history of slave time,
that could have been me
I am a member of a culture who is no longer afraid
from ancestors of slave dancers turned night club prancers
I am that one who is proud if no one else
I will not complain or want more,
but wish to give to those who have less
No sound nor force disturbs me
Only the decision of the Lord can destroy my existence
To even imagin what I must be you must stand as an equal
I am an unidentified body in motion common among females
Others listen to put downs needing me to guide them
I oppose whats not right, or at times just pose
Women claim your significance, thats what makes me who I am
You should stand in my presence and realize that I am a being on which a light beams
