Hypothetically.

Remember just yesterday,
When I told you to hold my hand,
Where I told you it didn't matter,
I didn't need you to understand.

What if I told you I was pregnant,
Meaning so, so much more,
How you are the father,
Hypothetically, of course.

What would you do,
To me; what would you say,
Are you ready to be a father,
Would you turn and walk away?

Would you leave me with your child,
Are you ready to be more,
Could you love someone as fragile as a baby,
Hypothetically, of course.

Well, today was the day that I told you,
And I watched you turn away,
Something inside of me knew,
That you, you wouldn't stay.

As I turned around to walk,
You came and held me around the waist,
You said that you were happy,
If in fact that was the case.

Well, baby; maybe I should tell you,
Or wait just one month more,
It just so happens that I love you,
Hypothetically, of course.
