Pain, a universal language. Whimpers, cries, exaltions of whaling pitch that fluctuate. Pain, the facade of anguish. Angst, fear, dispisure, a heavy heart - of mawkish trait. Pain, a blurry canvas. Death, poverty, hunger, thirst - invibrantly pallated paint. Pain, a deathly sentiment - which feeds on joy; in unseen ambush. Pain, the lonely devil's standard - an easy mock, a simple gleeful giggle for those who pity weakness; a feast for those who stone the meagre and who have no margin for meekness. Pain, if you're a player then you'll not mind the shock; you'll recognise how ordinary it is and how not to let the penny drop. Pain, a universal language. Between real and ideal it's sandwiched. Pain, undulating within your core. It's funny how the taste of blood, splashed; raw, can curdle your stomach yet make you crave more. [ Back to "Dark, Horror Poems" page ] |
