Some people have a negative opinion of those who use dating services or hire matchmakers. However, the persons utilizing these services are most often upstanding citizens. Many hold occupations requiring extensive work hours and haven't the time nor the energy to circulate. In other cases, there are a few who feel uncomfortable in large social settings, where the possibility of securing a date is greatest. A dating service or matchmaker becomes an avenue to meet people, where one feels more composure. Others may link up with a dating service or matchmaker because it's simply another way to increase the odds of findings a mate. They may have tapped out introductions through friends, or exhausted other means of meeting available people. An increasing number are back in the dating world again after a long period of time, due to a divorce, relationship breakups, or are new to the area. Most feel both apprehensive and clueless about reconnecting and establishing themselves in the dating world once more. Perhaps when you hear the word "matchmaker" Fiddler on the Roof comes in to mind. Back then, matchmakers were in such a business because matching corresponding wants and needs and, having many connections with others was their talent. It hasn't changed all that much today.
