Happy Father.By Tony Wright I use to call him Daddy And then just called him Dad, As I got older I called him 'other things' When he would make me mad. He planted me before my birth and provided for my needs, He taught me how to ride my bike Mow the lawn and cut the weeds. He taught me how to walk, then run And was my coach when I played ball. He was not only my coach in sports But warned me of some of 'life's falls. Dad also taught me how to fish and hunt And how to play games when I was young, He took me out on camping trips And taught me how to hunt, safely handling my gun. So Dad, I pray you'll forgive me For not writing or calling more than I do. But this is one time of the year I just want to make sure you know Dad, I LOVE YOU! [ Back to "Fathers Day Poems" page ] |
