What could possibly be cooler than hipping kids to some of the best pop music ever made? Music for Little People makes this project simple by producing a batch of the Beatles' sunniest songs performed by a prime adult band and your children's peers and slightly reworked in kid-friendly keys. The result is largely devoid of over-the-top cutesy-poo histrionics--these kids can really sing and the harmonies are quite commendable. Young listeners will be thrilled to sing along on the bouncy chorus of "Life Goes On," to count and do the alphabet on "All Together Now," and to distinguish the amusing sounds of a penny whistle, mandolin, and zither. Both Raffi and blues artist Eric Bibb make guest appearances, but the shining star at this party is child singer Bernie Steinberg, who takes lead on three tunes, including the touchingly performed "Mother Nature's Son" and the amazingly soulful "Birthday." --Paige La Grone

From Hawaii with Love:

Open the lovely photographed front cover of a hawaiian wahine covered in a plumeria lei, and when you play this c.d. lie down, close your eyes and you will be immediately from the first note be floated away to paradise. No vocals, but gorgeous soft and gentle steel guitar music. The Mauna Malahini Islanders versions of many of Hawaii^s greatest hits are performed to perfection. ^Moon over Manokoora^ is bliss. Some steel guitar c.d.^s (eg. Jack de Mello: Steel Guitar Magic) are too fast and brash. But not this c.d. it flows at a perfect pace from beginning to end. It^s definately the best Hawaiian music c.d. I^ve heard, and I^ve heard a few. I^f only there were more on the market like this.

I have not reviewed this CD because I caint get it, but I rally think Anthony Ventura is fantastic and very good music to listen to.....one of the best Ive heard, and I was A disc jockey for years on various radio stations, hes up there with Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey

It is true, there are some quality tracks on this album. Some even inspire the libido, but their radical disparity in tone is awkward. I wanted to like this album, maybe it was the provocative title or the attractive case art...but it tries too hard. I think a steady building, escalating force, with smooth-gliding dips and a constant intensity amongst transitions would have been more effective guide for mixing. Although, different strokes for...well you get the idea.

One and Only Love Album:

Excellent selection of songs is transformed into a must have by the inclusion of the FULL versions of these songs. I have purchased many compilations from Amazon, but this is one of a select few that actually contain the full versions of the songs (with the notable exception of Nights in White Satin): 10cc's "I'm Not in Love" is 6 minutes, Stephanie Mills "Never Knew Love Like This Before", and Peaches & Herb's "Reunited" is 5:42. I only wish it had "Sara Smile" by Hall & Oates. Recommended.

Pure 80's Love: The 1 Hits:

This is the fifth entry in the famous "Pure 80's" series. But unlike its predecessor "Pure 80's Rocks", this compilation spotlights the decade's softer side. The tracks on this album were chart toppers on either the pop or adult contempory charts (or in some cases both). Some tracks can be easily found on other compilations (e.g. Spandau Ballet's "True") but some others are not (Sergio Mendes "Never Gonna Let You Go"). Considering how much it might cost to purchase these songs individually, this would definitely be a wise investment.
