Love in Hawaii.
We met on a blind date. I knew as soon as my eyes saw him, he was meant to be mine. We dated like a whirlwind. Both fell madly in love with each other. The only drawback, was he was in the AirForce at a nearby base.
After he had proposed and I accepted we were planning the greatest day of our lives.
Then, he calls, and says, he wanted to come and talk to me. I waited. He came, and broke the horrible news. He had emergency orders for Viet nam. He was leaving for one year in two weeks time.
We stayed up all night and talked. We decided to go ahead and have a small wedding service.
We did, and in two weeks, the best thing that ever came into my life was gone, not knowing if I would ever lay eyes on him. My heart was shattered.
Then eight months later, we took our R & R in Hawaii.
I spotted him among all the other gi's, and I started screaming and running toward him. We spent 5 glorious days in beautiful Hawaii.
Some day, we have vowed, we would go back to the island that graciously allowed two hearts to be together again, if only for a short time.
