Orlando Vacation. Many people immediately think of Disneyworld when they think of Orlando, but an Orlando vacation offers much more - from horse-drawn carriage rides at dusk to romantic picnics in the park, it’s the perfect place for a romantic vacation as well as a fun-filled family vacation. Not only are there 95 theme parks and major attractions in Orlando alone, but, long before there were ANY theme parks in Orlando, it was a popular vacation spot. Orlando's temperate weather has always made it a great vacation destination year round. Orlando's wildlife, tropical foliage, and beautiful flowers can be seen any time of year. And, while a trip to Disneyworld can definitely be a romantic getaway for a couple, many would prefer to combine it with a few days of more quiet, intimate, relaxation. In addition to the well known spots like Busch Gardens, Universal Studios, Epcot Center, and the like, there are many sightseeing opportunities in Orlando. Here are a few ideas highly recommended by those who have vacationed in or near Orlando: Take a ride on the Glass Bottom Boats of Silver Springs (A great way to see Florida's wildlife up close and personal) Go to Butterfly World - Find yourself surrounded by waterfalls, beautiful flowers, classical music, and, of course, butterflies! Explore 'Sunken Gardens' - Another place to enjoy Florida's beautiful flora and fauna together. Enjoy any of the area's world class golf courses- and play on the same links where Tiger Woods frequents. Visit The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art - Boasts the world's largest, most comprehensive collection of Tiffany glass. Find a star - using the world's largest refractor telescope, at the Orlando Science Center - and name it after your special someone. See Orlando from above in a hot air balloon. Visit Lake Eola, right in Downtown Orlando, and take a ride on a Swan Boat. Take an air-boat tour through Everglades National Park. If you're seeking a spot to get married, Disney offers a variety of wedding and reception packages! Florida's first theme park, seen pictured here, was Cypress Gardens. It is still a beautiful place to visit. Among the many romantic and quaint bed and breakfast hotels that Orlando has to offer, is the Courtyard at Lake Lucerne.
