Vail Vacation.

Beautiful, romantic and fun - Vail, Colorado ... For many years, Vail has been a popular winter vacation spot for skiiers. In fact, in SKI Magazine's annual reader's poll, Vail has been ranked the number one ski resort in North America 13 of the past 17 years, including the past three years in a row.

Vail was known as 'Gore Valley' by gold and silver miners in the 1800's. Named after a state highway engineer, Charlie Vail, Vail has grown to become the largest ski area in North America.

Vail offers much more than just great skiing - and can make a great romantic vacation any time of the year. Among the popular summertime activities in Vail you'll find: Mountain Biking, Hiking, Rock Climbing, Horseback Riding, Jeep Tours, Golf, and Fishing.

Vail also has several cultural events during the off season. These include the Vail International Dance Festival (every August), and the Vail Valley Music Festival (June - August).

Each April for the past 14 years, Vail has been host to host to a food and wine festival, called "Taste of Vail." (The 15th Annual festival is slated for April 6-9, 2005.)

In nearby Beaver Creek is the Vilar Center for the Arts, which features entertainment year-round.

Snow skiing, of course, draws more visitors to Vail than anything else. There are seven 'bowls' in Vail: the Sun Up, Sun Down, Tea Cup, China, Siberia, and the Inner and Outer Mongolia Bowls.
Each bowl offers unique and challenging slopes for skiiers and snowboarders alike.
